I had been working from home for 3 years and did not realize
the weight that I had gained until I saw a picture of myself in
a bathing suit. Talk about a beached whale!

In April 2011 I went to St. Thomas on vacation. I had been working from home
for 3 years and did not realize the weight that I had gained until I saw a picture
of myself in a bathing suit. Talk about a beached whale, I couldn’t believe I had gotten so big.  I looked terrible. It was a wake-up call!

After vacation I decided it was time for me to do something about my weight.
I found a trainer at Dezigned Fitness who took the time to understand contraindications of my illness, my physical limitations and abilities, my busy schedule and my lifestyle before developing an exercise program to meet
my specific needs.

I hadn't exercised in years. So the trainer started me off slow with 10 minute workouts each day. Janet stressed the importance of starting slow and perfecting form before advancing. She demonstrated each exercise, coached me on the correct movements to perfect my form, watched and corrected my form to ensure I didn't hurt myself. In addition to receiving a custom designed exercise program, Janet advised and coached me on healthy eating as a lifestyle change.

After 8 straight months of continued weight loss, I hit a plateau. For 4 weeks,
no matter what I tried, I couldn't get off the plateau. Janet modified my exercise program to step-up the intensity of my resistance training as well as my aerobic training. The adjusted program "shocked my body"; within one week I was back
on track, and have consistently lost one pound per week since then.

Janet is a great coach and motivator; when I would get discouraged she encouraged me, she didn't let me give up. She reminded me that it took me 3 years to put the weight on and it will take time for it to come off. Since working with Janet, I've lost 37 pounds, 25 inches and dropped 3 dress sizes. Because of Janet and Dezigned Fitness I made the necessary lifestyle changes to be fit and healthy. Even my Doctor was pleased; he said I was transformed.
